Camp of the Tall Pines
Website Design, phase 2
posted Monday February 25, 2008 by Dave
Would you rather vacation in a sleeping bag than a bed? Would you rather sit around a campfire than in traffic? Do you prefer stars and a moon to smog and, well, more traffic?
Do you sometimes say "ya'll?"
If you've answered yes to any of these questions, you may have a secret desire to go camping. And if you're going to go camping, you may's well do it right. Camp of the Tall Pines is 220 acres of secluded camp grounds surrounded by even more seclusion in the Lincoln National Forest Park in New Mexico. It's big. It's private. And it's even got plumbing if you prefer.
We set the camp staff up with a Content Management System so they can keep interested campers up to date with news about line dances and ATV races, and edit any content on the site as they see fit. We put in a calendar so visitors to the site can specify their cabin and date preferences with the click of a button. We set up a newsletter sign-up form so camp staff can send out emails to anyone who has submitted their email address. We set up the home page with a slide show plugin so camp staff can easily upload new camp images as they become available. We did all this, and we did it from the comfort of our urban office in Washington. Hey, we're city slickers, that's our nature.
