Perfect Surface of Wa
Brochure
posted Wednesday March 12, 2008 by Dave
After rebranding the Perfect Surface of Washington Identity, then redesigning their website, they still liked us. We're not quite sure why, we did our best to irritate them. But they stuck around. So, logically, we designed a brochure for them.
In order to make the job as cost effective as possible, we set up the main brochure with a place holder for a pricing card that could be printed separately and at lower quantities. Currently Perfect Surface is using the 2008 price card. When 2009 rolls around, we'll print another short run of updated 2009 price cards and they will be inserted into a selection of already-printed brochures. And then we'll have to remember to update this entry.

Website Design

Now that we've set up this new logo, we're not just gonna go and slap it into an old website. I mean, a logo is important, but what good does it do if the website reminds you of listening to Pearl Jam in your ugly but paid for 1989 Ford Tempo? (Insert your own personal memories of the 90's here.) No disrespect! We all gotta start somewhere! And we commend the folks at Perfect Surface for coming to us when they did.

"Don't take your logo lightly."
This is the advice we give to anyone who'll listen. A great logo takes hours and hours of research before beginning hours and hours of chicken scratching we call concept development. Then you gotta spend all that time making your chicken scratches look halfway decent in the computer, followed by hours and hours of refinement, all leading up to a pitch that includes 6 or so very refined options for review.
And now, for the first time on the internet, you can see a sampling of what our chicken scratches look like up above. This is a collage of a few concepts taken from one of our sketchbooks. Yes, we know that some of those are really bad. But that's the process, you put it all out there, good with the bad, then filter, rinse, develop and BLAMO!, you got yourself a nice looking mark. But what is this, an art class? Let's get to the results already!
